RIB U.S. Cost is seeking a Reality Capture Specialist to join our airport team in Miami. RIB is a leader in providing project controls related services across all verticals within the construction and EPC/M industry. The ideal candidate will become part of team that is setting new standards in project delivery for industry in apply new methods and new technology to create innovative and value-added results to every step of the process. The reality capture specialist is responsible for the collection of as-built construction data that is crucial in verifying and tracking that the project teams are constructing projects the way they were designed. This is a physically demanding job that will require lifting equipment up to 50lbs and walking the entirety of job sites, many without vertical transportation requiring the use of stairs. You will occasionally work in wet environments in or outside of the construction site. In addition, you will be required to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) to the standards of the specific construction site you are visiting. This includes, but is not limited to, hard hats, safety glasses, footwear, and vest.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and perform LIDAR/Laser scans of construction activities by contractors.
  • Ensure contractors implement and follow a quality control plan, construction plans and specifications.
  • Process photogrammetry and point cloud data.
  • Process virtual walk throughs and BIM Models of project sites.
  • Inspect and document equipment details in terminals and other buildings.
  • Coordinate and schedule reality captures with contractors, tenants, customers, owners, and other stake holders.
  • Assist in placing asset tags on identified equipment.
  • Maintain photographic and video documentation.
  • Verifies that accurate As-Built information has been recorded.
  • Uses computer-based construction management software.
  • Develop aerial reality capture and drone standard operating procedures.
  • Process drone data (Ortho mosaics, As-Built Overlays, photogrammetry, and point clouds.)
  • Establish flight procedures with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Coordinate and schedule drone flights with FAA based on project team needs.
  • Uses computer-based drone processing software.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Current FAA certified drone pilot status is a must.
  • Excellent ability to mine data from multiple sources while maintaining accuracy.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a drone pilot in a commercial construction setting.
  • Ability to obtain a Miami Airport Security Badge – see https://www.miami-airport.com/id_badging_info.asp for more information.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, details, and specification a plus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize new technology.
