Job Description: Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Lowboy Driver

Description

Pollman Excavation Inc. is searching for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to undertake the maintenance and repair of our fleet of construction machinery, trucks and trailers. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, and servicing a variety of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostic tests on heavy equipment, trucks and trailers to identify faults and malfunctions.
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication of equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively to ensure efficient coordination of repairs and equipment availability.
  • Delivery, loading and unloading of various machines

Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of heavy equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude in difficult situations.
  • Valid Class A drivers license.
  • Punctuality- Be on time and stay until the work day is complete.
