Tool and Die Maker

Eastridge Workforce Solutions has partnered with a leading manufacturer of RF/microwave cable assemblies, in the search for a Tool and Die Maker at their model shop located in Woodridge, IL. In this role, the ideal candidate will build special tools, fixtures, prototype connector parts, and custom machine parts to support production and R&D projects. Candidates with prior Tool Maker, Die Maker, and Mold Maker experience, who meet the qualifications below, are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities:

• Constructing new tools, fixtures, and prototype connector parts according to specifications outlined in drawings and sketches.
• Repairing existing tools and fixtures as necessary.
• Crafting low-run production items to support orders.
• Developing prototypes for new products or modifying existing ones.
• Performing preventative maintenance on shop equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
• Collaborating with purchasing to procure necessary shop materials and tooling.
• Assisting engineers in design for manufacture, material selection, and various technical aspects.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in machining operations within a production or R&D environment.
• Proficiency with Hardinge Tool Room Lathe and Bridgeport Mill preferred.
• Formal technical training or apprenticeship is advantageous.
• Ability to independently program using MasterCam and set up/operate Haas Mini Mill is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical capability to maneuver within the plant, operate machinery, and handle inventory.
• Intermediate math skills including algebra and trigonometry.
• Must be a U.S. person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident).
