Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for ensuring the level of response preparedness for compliance with regulations and corporate policies for Civitas’ operations and their related Emergency Management Team. This position will support, manage, and implement emergency response programs with training, exercises, plan revisions and ongoing maintenance activity. Coordinate with Security and Emergency Response personnel to develop and maintain strong relationships with applicable regulatory agencies, emergency management authorities, and response contractors. Participate in applicable industry meetings, exercises, and maintain associated Emergency Action Plans (EAP), update all applicable requirements, and assure compliance with local regulations, company policies and recognized best practices.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with applicable regulatory agencies, emergency management authorities and response contractors
  • Create training resources and presentation materials to support training and exercise projects.
  • Responsible for guidance and subject matter expertise for Emergency Response Plans, ICS Training, and document management.
  • Provide coordination, organization and development of training and exercises to include technical assistance, guidance, support, and management. Develops After Action Reports and Improvement Plans (AAR/IP) for exercises and real events.
  • Conduct reviews of federal guidance, principles, conceptual models, policies, precedents, and professional standards affecting preparedness trainings and exercises and uses professional judgment to provide recommendations
  • Maintain associated Emergency Action Plans (EAP), update all applicable requirements, and assure compliance with local regulations
  • Assure work performed adheres to CIVI standards
  • Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI environmental, Safety & Regulatory, State and Local requirements
  • Other projects as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of emergency management, safety, hazard assessment/mitigation principles and practices within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience in preparing emergency and/or hazard mitigation documents.
  • Knowledge of federal and State emergency management frameworks (NIMS, ICS)
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials, workshops, and exercises with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Emergency Management, or related field required.
  • 5 years minimum of EHS experience within Oil & Gas required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
  • Travel required to Civitas field locations.

Base Pay Range: $136,000 - $160,000
