Job Description

Role:

The trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and coordinating training programs to enhance the
knowledge skills, and performance of team members within the credit union. This role plays a crucial part in
developing a well-trained workforce that delivers exceptional service to members and meets organizational
objectives. Provides support and serves as a resource for continuous improvement within the credit union by
assessing employee training needs. Demonstrates and maintains an up-to-date knowledge of and ensures on-
going compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, such as BSA, OFAC and internal policies and
procedures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Training Program Development:
- Assess training needs and develop training programs aligned with organization goals.
- Design and create training materials, presentations, and resources for various topics and
audiences.
- Incorporate adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies into training
materials. Creates, organizes, plans and presents various forms and formats of training and
development programs, including systems, personal and professional development, and other
soft skills.
Training Delivery:
- Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for team members, utilizing a variety of
delivery methods (e.g., classroom, online, and workshops.)
- Facilitate training sessions on topics such as member service, products and services,
compliance, lending, collections, systems/software, credit union policies and professional
development.
- Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure
maximum effectiveness. Interfaces with staff in high energy, enthusiastic, positive, and
professional manner.
- Travel to branches to provide ongoing training, and work with management to establish
times that work for team members.
Training Coordination:
- Works in close cooperation with all departments in order to develop an understanding of
interdepartmental relationships and design a system of feedback in order to assess and analyze
both universal and specific training needs.
- Collaborate with department managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs
and ensure content accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate training sessions, including logistics, participant registration, and
materials preparation.
- Monitor and track training attendance, completion and feedback to assess training
effectiveness and make improvements as necessary.
- Administrator of credit union's learning management system.
- Develops annual training calendar and posts for all team members.
- Facilitates Department Showcase, coordinates speakers, schedule, invites attendees, and
coordinates program materials.

Training Evaluation and Improvement:
-Evaluate training outcomes and assess the impact on team member performance and member
satisfaction.
-Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve training
programs and materials,
-Stay updated on industry trends, regulations and best practices related to training and
professional development in the credit union sector.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and evaluations.
- As needed, prepares reports and summaries on training effectiveness, participant feedback
and training needs assessments.
Works with the Human Resources department to develop and coordinate annual "All Staff"
training day. Delivers training session on site.
Work with management in all departments to see where improvements need to be made, as
well as be available to coach specific team members if they need additional training on a
subject
Prepares and implements training budget; maintains records and report of expenses.
Administrator of credit union's learning management system.
Performs other related duties as required.


Performance Measurements:

1. To meet all training objectives and goals established for the year.
2. To maintain a basic understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures, as
well an understanding of the Credit Union's mission.
3. To complete reports and records accurately and in a timely manner.
4. To relate any problems in training effectiveness to the supervisor, making recommendations to resolve
them.
5. To provide friendly, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Minimum of three years in a financial environment with expertise in credit/financial services

and training.


Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry
as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).


Interpersonal
Skills

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature.
Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become
important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals)
becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to
others.


Other Skills Must possess excellent verbal, written presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment including 10-key,
telephone, slide, film, overhead projector, and other related training aids.
Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must.
Advanced skills with MS Office programs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint). Advanced skills with
applicable financial operating and lending core systems is essential.
Must be flexible and available to work a non-standard work schedule, including evening and
weekend hours. Must be willing to travel both locally and regionally. Overnight travel maybe
required.


Physical
Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to walk, bend and kneel as required. Must be
able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.


Work
Environment

Must have a valid driver's license and driving record in good standing.
