Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our continued growth at Corona Tools in our new Distribution Center in Louisville, KY. This position makes an impact by maximizing the efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity of our DC. They are an integral people leader that will actively coach, develop, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the DC team in a fast paced, deadline driven environment that emphasizes safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conducts safety meetings, trainings, and toolbox talk sessions. Maintains a strong safety culture.
  • Drives site safety program to achieve zero lost time injuries.
  • Coaches, develops, and trains employees involved in the shipment, receipt, and control of inventory and supplies. Ensures all annual training courses are completed.
  • Introduces and documents SOP's and ensures that they are followed.
  • Develops supervisors & team leads to support quality, safety, and productivity goals.
  • Develops and coordinates systems and procedures designed to improve productivity. Ensures that the departments can perform at an optimum level on a continual basis, and practices continuous improvement.
  • Sets up housekeeping procedures.
  • Creates and maintains a preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensures the DC is properly staffed by working with HR and staffing agencies.
  • Works with the Logistics, Planning & Purchasing teams to ensure inventory is available to ship on time.
  • Creates a procedure to audit incoming trucks and/or containers for accuracy.
  • Works with Purchasing team and local vendors to obtain pallets, boxes, and office supplies. Creates a KANBAN system to minimize shortages.
  • Ensures that plant, property & equipment is effectively utilized and maintained.
  • Works with property management if problems with facility occur.
  • Works with local companies to ensure forklifts are running properly.
  • Leads kitting operations and continuously improves quality, ergonomics, and production.
  • Ensures daily kitted items are posted daily and produced on time to fulfill the customer's requests.
  • Creates a build to stock system on kitted items and eliminates kitted items on the weekly shortage report.
  • Conducts daily departmental "Tailgate" meetings to identify and resolve departmental safety and housekeeping issues. Is accountable for all environmental conditions of supervised departments, including potentially hazardous materials exposure, consumable labeling and SDS (Safety Data Sheet) control procedures.
  • Creates and reports departmental key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Assists in creating annual department budgets, monitors monthly actuals, and reports out issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of managing employees in a 200k+ sq. foot facility.
  • Strong supervisory experience in receiving, shipping, and kitting operations.
  • OSHA and Safety training with the ability to train others.
  • ERP experience with BPCS experience highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to initiate and execute initiatives with minimal guidance.
  • Success in leading, motivating, training, and providing direction to employees.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Additional Inventory, Production, Operations experience highly preferred.
  • Lean Methodology training and/or certification (Six Sigma, etc.) highly preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Significant walking, bending, and standing on concrete floors for extended periods of time.
  • Physical activities include but not limited to reaching, pulling, pushing, gripping, and grabbing, and must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
