POSITION OPENING

Campbell County Economic Development Coordinator/4-H Youth Advisor

Full-time position with benefits-Position will split time between departments

College degree preferred (Agriculture, Education, Family Consumer Sciences, Child/Youth Development or a related field) but not required

Pass a Background Check through SDSU

Reside within Campbell County

Valid Driver’s License

Strong Communication, Written, Organizational and Time Management Skills

Work well with people

Self-motivated

Some evening and weekend work and travel

Occasional overnight stays for events and training

Economic Development Duties Include:

Promote economic development within Campbell County, impartial to location within the county.

Promote value-added projects, attract and recruit new businesses to the area along with supporting existing business retention and expansion.

Work together with local community groups, attend educational workshops and seminars.

Researching, applying and submitting grant paperwork.

Assist business prospects with studies, business plans and financing packages, etc.

Work with the Campbell County Economic Development Board and update the Campbell County Commission on activities.

4-H Duties Include:

Serve as 4-H Youth Program Advisor providing 4-H program and policy supervision.

Preparation and management of 4-H Achievement Days and SD State Fair 4-H events and other events.

Provide leadership for volunteer management of both youth and adult volunteers.

Maintain an effective and efficient communication network with County Commissioners, other County officials, 4-H Leaders, 4-H Youth Program Advisors, Extension Field Specialists and public.

Support the mission, vision, and philosophy of South Dakota State University, SDSU Extension and South Dakota 4-H while adhering to all policies and procedures.
