Job Title: Warehouse Lead

OVERVIEW: As a Warehouse Lead you will be responsible for managing your team, overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that process standards are achieved to produce consistent, safe, high-quality ESL and UHT beverages. The Warehouse Lead will also be responsible for helping their team transport products, load and unload shipments, stage production, perform quality checks, and maintain inventory.

We are seeking someone who will contribute daily to the progress of plant start up and commissioning. Candidate will assist in creation of documents and training procedures.

You Will:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members on your shift.
  • Manage relationships with other plant leadership and support other departments to ensure efficiency throughout all operations.
  • Provide detailed daily report outs on inventory, KPIs, production runs, shipments and receipts.
  • Ensure detailed logs are kept for equipment, process parameters, inventory, and waste tracking. Provide details and communicate strategy to resolve issues.
  • Evaluate production plans and inventory, monitor performance, and communicate with plant leadership to maintain all schedule expectations.
  • Always provide proactive support and solutions.
  • Monitor and manage use of our ERP system to ensure accurate record keeping and ensure that your team is executing procedures properly.
  • Efficiently and safely operate equipment.
  • Inspect products for quality and document results accurately.
  • Learn not only the tasks required for the assigned job, but also understand the reason why each step is important in the whole production process of ESL and Aseptic products.
  • Oversee the dairy plant processes, following SOP’s and GMP’s, ensuring documentation is accurately executed. Troubleshoot and resolves minor and moderate bottlenecks and report efficiency opportunities and any food safety concerns to leadership.
  • Ensures all required safety practices are followed, including PPE usage, chemical handling, and OSHA standards. Responsible for reporting all safety concerns to leadership.
  • Actively participate in RCAs, routine plant inspections, and customer audits.
  • Maintains inventory and performs cycle counts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain high standards of safety in all aspects of daily plant operations.
  • Immediately report and escalate any deviation from food safety and quality programs.
  • Coordinate training of personnel for equipment, materials, and plant standards.
  • Use your expertise to develop annual growth strategy and roadmaps for your shift/crew to develop competent and confident operators to achieve bench strength and depth of skills.
  • Maintain an action tracker for your team and establish accountability with team to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate processes and standards are in place and followed to keep producing quality beverages, maintain high performance, and generate accurate records.
  • Report on leading downtime issues for your shift and work with support departments to address causal factors.
  • Always maintain work area in audit-ready condition.
  • Support all departments to remedy issues with urgency.
  • Maintain accurate and precise records of materials for your shift and stage materials and outbound loads for the upcoming shift to support efficient turnover.
  • Inspect equipment and work areas for damage and report any issues found.
  • Always maintain the plant and your personnel in audit-ready status.
  • Identify and work to resolve issues that inhibit department achievement of KPIs.
  • Uphold high standards of conduct while providing support for your team.
  • Complying with safety protocols and company guidelines.
  • Participate in cross functional teams focused on reducing downtime and improving performance, resolving quality concerns, and take advantage of situations where your expertise can add value.
  • This position will require active involvement in daily operations and taking advantage of coaching to help grow, develop, and promote personnel in the plant.
  • This position will require operators to transport products safely and efficiently.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of high school diploma or GED program and have 5+ years of leadership experience in food/beverage manufacturing plant or similar field.
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient with operating heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be decisive, and possess the ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of basic math and reading comprehension skills.
  • A proven track record of developing and empowering employees is desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs.

  • Lead safety-minded teams.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels throughout the plant; written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to moving from a startup to a fully established manufacturing facility.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills.
  • Familiar with current communication tools and platforms (collaboration tools, instead messaging, blogs, etc.) to keep our organization well informed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain legible records in accordance with company standards.
