Maintenance Mechanic

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions, in partnership with a prominent manufacturer of Bags in Union, IL, area, is seeking Maintenance Mechanic! This climate-controlled facility offers a wide range of perks, such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing!
Maintenance Mechanic Job Summary:
  1. Pay: $17.00 to $22.00
  2. Shifts Available: Monday-Friday
    1. 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm
    2. Temp To hire after 90 day work days, full benefits right away and $150.00 dollars bonus when you get hired-on.
  • Position Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots, identifies root cause of problem and performs needed repair on malfunctioning equipment. Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment. May assist or back-up on building maintenance and repairs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Troubleshoot to determine root cause of equipment failure and perform corrective repairs.
  • Good understanding of troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatics controls.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics, mechanical blue prints, safety instructions, and operating manuals.
  • Disassembles machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment.
  • Test runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assists in other building maintenance or repair activities as needed.
  • Mechanically inclined, able to work independently or in a team.
  • High School/Trade School Diploma or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Use power tools & hand tools.
  • Knowledgeable with the use of test and measuring equipment (electrical multi-meters, micrometers, calipers) as required to perform maintenance work.
  • Ability to understand and express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with a variety of skilled/unskilled, professional and administrative personnel.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
