Bill of Material Specialist

Job Description, Bill of Materials Specialist, Reports to PA Manager

The BOM Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOMs) for our manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This candidate will also have strong communication skills, as they will be working closely with various departments to ensure Bill of Materials accuracy.

Job Responsibilities

1. Create Bill of Materials for products and processes based upon technical data and in coordination with other departments.

2. Update Bill of Materials to incorporate engineering changes and process changes.

3. Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate production kanbans that are properly aligned with Bill of Materials.

4. Review all Bill of Materials to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to release.

5. Conduct regular audits of Bill of Materials to ensure accuracy and completeness, including audit of product and process technical data.

6. Troubleshoot any issues related to Bill of Materials and JDE ERP system.

7. Continuously improve Bill of Materials processes to increase productivity and accuracy.

8. Train staff on Bill of Materials procedures and best practices.

9. Complete projects based on priories set by Manager.

10. Maintain a safe and clean work area.

11. Perform other related duties as required and or as assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

* Proven experience as a Bill of Materials Engineer or similar role in manufacturing.

* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and BOM management.

* Proficient in JDE ERP System (preferred).

* Proficient in MS Office applications and strong computer skills.

* Possesses skills to manage time and resources required to complete projects.

* Responds accurately to requests in a timely manner.

* Possesses attention to detail, and ability to review work for any discrepancies.

* Contributes to team effort by fostering an enthusiastic, positive work environment; energizes other.

* Demonstrates eagerness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

* Takes initiative to address problems and opportunities; action-oriented and willing to take risks.

Physical Demands

While most of the work required is in an office environment, this position requires spending time on the plant floor auditing processes.
