Role of Welder:

Performs job duties including but not limited to stick welding, steel erection, custom fabrication, and structural steel work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Welder:

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required

• Fabrication of metal parts

• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units

• Hoists steel beams, girders, or columns into place

• Verifies vertical and horizontal alignments of structural steel members

• Forces structural steel members into position

• Assembles hoisting equipment or rigging

• Assist other craft workers

Required Skills and Abilities of Welder:

• Minimum of 2 years experience related to welding and fabrication

• Experience with I-Beams

• Ability to operate Aerial Lifts

• Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints

• Must be able to align and level steel components

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Must have all required tools and personal protective equipment
