Leidos is seeking a Contracts Assistant to support the Operations Department at the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (NSMRL) in Groton, CT.  NSMRL conducts research and investigates the effects of medical, psychological, and performance issues associated with the health and performance of Naval personnel in operational and non-operational settings. As a Contracts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining contact with scientific laboratory personnel, outside scientific vendors, and budget personnel. The Contract Assistant works in a team environment and is responsible for maintaining overall accountability of all contract packages and funding documents to ensure mission accomplishment. The Challenge:

  • Acts as the central point-of-contact for information on the status of financed and unfinanced contract requirements.

  • Conduct market research and prepare documentation needed scientific research-based requirements, subject to final Government approval.

  • Receives and evaluates the milestones provided by support commands and works with scientific researchers to obtain and forward all required documents in a timely fashion, subject to final Government approval.

  • Perform support with the display of data/metrics of scientific research mission required procurements, subject to final Government approval.

  • Ensure communications of scientific research-based requirements are in good style, without typos, spelling errors, grammatical errors, etc.

  • Coordinates the provisions of various service and requirement contracts and verifies invoices for the payment of funds to the vendors, subject to Government approval.

  • Assist with other administrative aspects necessary to the generation of contracts and related research procurement efforts.

What Sets You Apart:

  • The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level.  Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.

  • Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or health services.

  • Administrative experience within a Government or military organization.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with military logistics or a military contracting setting will be given strong preference.

Pay Range:Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
