General Statement of Job:
The Instructional Coach collaborates with the Teaching and Learning team to implement professional development initiatives and academies for faculty and staff. The Instructional Coach is responsible for the development, facilitation, and timely completion of professional and organizational development activities, academies, and training for faculty and staff.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develops curricula, leads, and facilitates traditional and online professional development academies and training for faculty and staff.
  2. Identifies research-based strategies for teaching and learning for different settings, such as online, face-to-face, and hybrid settings.
  3. Collaborates and supports faculty in the implementation and evaluation of research-based teaching and learning strategies.
  4. Regularly consults with the TLC Advisory Committee, program chairs, faculty, and instructional staff to continuously identify concerns, formulate solutions, recommend options, and take corrective action in all areas of professional and organizational development as assigned, providing guidance and leadership to content experts and department heads.
  5. Provides individualized coaching to faculty and/or staff, as well as other consultations such as classroom observation feedback.
  6. Develops and produces training materials for faculty and staff for various professional development academies.
  7. Works and assists in leading cross-functional teams to provide faculty and staff professional development support.
  8. Formulates, administer, analyzes, and reports on activity/training evaluations; recommends and integrates training improvement based on finding.
  9. Plans, organizes, and consults with faculty and staff on the availability, implementation, and effectiveness of training provided.
  10. Provides support to Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning Center regarding grant requirements and evaluation plans.
  11. Assists the Associate Dean to ensure that professional development meets the standards established by accrediting bodies, such as SACSCOC and NACEP.
  12. Leads the planning, promotion, and facilitation of awards program to recognize the outstanding contributions of faculty and staff.
  13. Provides support for faculty and staff college-wide.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:
  1. Master’s Degree required.
  2. At least two (2) years of experience of curriculum development required.
  3. Experience in organizing, leading, and facilitating events and/or training required.
  4. Experience observing faculty and providing guidance and feedback, preferred.
  5. Experience in a higher education institution, preferred.
