Position Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian Specialist in the Neonatal ICU is responsible for-
- Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness, maintenance of current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness. Communicates the nutrition plan with the interdisciplinary team.
- Performing nutrition assessments and identifying nutrition diagnoses; recommending and implementing nutrition care plans based on evidence-based practice. Identifies appropriate nutrition diagnosis and malnutrition criteria. Identifies age-specific physical, psychosocial and cultural needs when carrying out patient activities.
- Practicing as an expert in the application of the nutrition care process and theory within a specialty area.
- Documents in the medical record using the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standardized language as part of the Nutrition Care Process.

Precepting, teaching, and coordinating learning experiences for dietetic interns/students enrolled in the JHHS dietetic education programs.

Supporting the needs of the department/hospital to facilitate essential operations.

5755 Cedar Lane, Columbia, MD 21044
Shift:
Part-time (20 hours per week)
Hours negotiable with ability to do some hours remotely
Education/Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor degree in Nutrition or related field from an accredited college or university
- Experience managing parenteral and enteral nutrition for neonates, and calculating custom formula recipes. This may include experience obtained during internship training.
Licensure/Certification:
- Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN) in Maryland, or be eligible to apply for licensure prior to hire.
