What you will do

You will be engaged with our engineering and sales team to invent and produce accurate 3D CAD models of new product designs to meet our customer requirements. 

How you will do it:

• Use computer aided drafting (CAD) software  to create drawings for customer and manufacturing processes. Drawings are based on designs and sketches provided by engineers or more experienced staff.
• Create drawings involving checking dimensions of parts, documenting materials to be used, verifying form, fit and function of parts in assemblies.
• Follow direction and implement Ruskin drafting standards.
• Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines and various building materials.
• Validate new product designs for form, fit, and function.
• Ensure best design principles and business practices are utilized to meet our customer’s needs.
• Minimize any known customer defects by developing permanent solutions in the new design.

What we look for

Required

• Drafting Degree with 2~3 years of drafting experience in product design
• Demonstrate high proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD and MS Office products
• Able to create new drawings by checking dimensions from physical parts with digital calipers along with documenting materials selections and tolerancing
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret ideas into detailed drawings to share with our teams for review
• Adaptability to workload requirements, design changes, and deadlines
• Woking knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines, and various building materials
• Working knowledge of drafting fundamentals including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, scaling, plus English and metric units of measure
• Ability to organize work and maintain a high level of productivity output
• Able to commit and meet project deadlines.​

Preferred

• Knowledge of Autotesk Vault
