Soliant, in partnership with esteemed educational institutions in Burton, MI, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team. As an essential member of the special education department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring alignment with state standards and educational goals.
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and life skills, utilizing evidence-based practices and differentiated instruction.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed to support their academic and social-emotional growth.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team meetings to discuss student progress and develop strategies for success.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid Michigan teaching license with certification in Special Education.
- Minimum of one year of recent experience working as a Special Education Teacher.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong munication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
