School Psychologist

Location: Arlington Heights, IL

Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Psychologist to join our team in Arlington Heights. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students within our school munity. You will collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to assess students' needs, develop intervention plans, and promote a positive school climate conducive to learning and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning
  • Interpret assessment results and provide remendations for educational programming and intervention planning
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide counseling and support services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review assessment data, discuss student progress, and coordinate services
  • Consult with parents and caregivers to address concerns and provide strategies for supporting their child's development
  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in school psychology, incorporating evidence-based interventions into practice

Educational Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Valid School Psychologist license or certification in the state of Illinois

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with experience conducting psychoeducational assessments
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504
  • Excellent munication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting, preferably with students from diverse backgrounds
