ABOUT

The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four civil/vertical construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, vertical construction, site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States.


GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY


The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for leading crew members to execute various carpentry tasks to support the successful completion of construction projects within the Civil Construction Services division. This position requires a high level of proficiency in leadership and carpentry techniques, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and project specifications.



MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Directs and supervises the work of crew of one or more trades.
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety polices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches, in preparation of layout to determine dimensions and type of material required.
  • Works independently to lead a crew in the installation form work, place steel reinforcement, our concrete, and finish as needed for concrete.
  • Assists other craft workers as needed or assigned.
  • Understands the means and methods of construction associated concrete construction (including reinforced concrete structures, culverts, walls, bridges and slip form paving etc.)
  • Ability to construct, erect, install and repair structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
  • Inspects work for compliance with company quality standards.
  • Performs work of a Carpenter in addition to Foreman duties.
  • Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.



EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Carpenter Foreman within the construction industry, preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to carpentry work.
  • Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Proficiency in carpentry techniques, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and joining materials.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and construction plans accurately.
  • Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools relevant to carpentry work.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precise and accurate workmanship.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
  • May take on responsibilities of the Superintendent when absent or unavailable.
