• Educate patients on the purpose of pulmonary function testing and provide instructions for proper test performance.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the testing process.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive respiratory care.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Needs an Associate’s Degree to be a CPFT; additional education or training in respiratory therapy or a related field preferred
• Strong understanding of pulmonary anatomy and physiology
• Proficiency in performing pulmonary function tests and interpreting results
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
