PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:

The purpose of this position is to provide electrical maintenance planning, scheduling, and support for Black Thunder Mine, ensuring compliance with federal, state and company safety rules and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Lead the job or work planning process with maintenance leadership (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually). Identify labor, materials, tools, and safety requirements for maintenance work orders.
  • Communicate and collaborate with operations to optimize scheduling and ensure critical equipment needs.
  • Coordinate schedules, parts, etc., implementing plans to forecast work for the upcoming week.
  • Develop budget plans for monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance projects.
  • Ensure work order process and system (Ellipse) information integrity.
  • Monitor and track equipment component hours to plan replacements, provide information for budgeting, improve machine efficiency, and warranty tracking.
  • Manage equipment backlog as part of the weekly planning process according to parts and equipment.
  • Assist with power distribution planning.
  • Conduct engineering analysis of electrical projects.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Work alongside electricians and supervisors in the field to troubleshoot, repair, and tune electrical components and infrastructure.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering. "Required equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree".
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in the mining industry.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with surface and prep/loadout mining equipment and facilities.
  • Knowledge of the Ellipse system.
  • Proficiency with Ellipse, Excel, Word, and Data collection software.
