Columbia Country Club is a private, member-owned club, conveniently located inside the Beltway in idyllic Chevy Chase, MD. Position Summary:

The Market Cashier will be responsible for FOH operations and member facing tasks. They provide great hospitality throughout service to include providing excellent service to members, working efficiently with the staff, and maintaining their workstation. The Market Cashier should always possess a professional behavior and appearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrive on time for each shift with a positive attitude wearing the appropriate uniform that is given at the beginning of the season.
  • Comply with the club's policies and procedures as established in the employee handbook.
  • Demonstrate professional and friendly hospitality to members by providing great service and greeting them and their guests with a warm Columbia welcome each and every day. Vice versa, thank members and guests as they leave the Club.
  • Follow The Market's operational procedures regarding pre, during and post shift side work duties to ensure your station is set up for success.
  • Strictly follow all sanitation-related requirements and organization of your station.
  • Suggestively sell and be familiar with presentation, portion and ingredients of all food and beverage items sold at The Market.
  • Take accurate orders per member request and ensure they are properly entered into our POS system.
  • Work as a team with supervisors, cooks, and other Market staff through way of clear and respectful communication and high performance.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings to learn about current happenings at the Club and your assignment for the shift.
  • Handle member/guest complaints by listening to the problem from the member and providing a solution to the issue. Involve the Manager if the issue escalates.
  • Complete other appropriate work assignments as requested by The Market Manager or The Market Lead.

Position Qualifications and Functional Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be 18 years of age and successfully pass a background check.
  • Be able to handle a fast pace working environment.
  • Be able to handle the sun for long periods of time.
  • Must have good communication and time management skills.
  • Capable of meeting the physical demands and responsibilities of the position including long periods of standing and quick movement around the work area. Should be able to periodically lift/move items or objects up to 20-35 pounds.
