As an Accounts Payable Clerk at AVEC, you will play a pivotal role in our journey towards a more efficient, dynamic, and collaborative workplace. If you're someone who is passionate about modernizing dated systems creating an excellent company culture, we want you to be a part of our journey.

As an Accounts Payable Clerk each day is a dynamic journey filled with tasks that keep the financial heart of our cooperative beating strong. A typical day for the AP Clerk might include

  • Printing invoices from email
  • Sorting and routing paper invoices to purchasers in person
  • Efficiently and accurately processing a high volume of printed invoices
  • Reconciling vendor statements to financial data in our legacy accounting software system
  • Maintaining positive relationships with vendors including promptly addressing inquiries and discrepancies
  • adhering to payment terms and internal controls
  • investigating, and resolving discrepancies or issues related to invoices, purchase orders, and payments
  • coordinating with internal departments as needed.

The ideal Accounts Payable Clerk should have:

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and precision
  • Exceptional organization and time management abilities, essential for working with financial workflows with limited automation
  • A solid understanding of utility accounting principles, complex GL strings, and cost center allocation.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with various database software platforms.
  • A strong commitment to ethical conduct, privacy, and maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
  • Strong adaptability

We offer a comprehensive pay and benefit package for full-time employees. Highlights include starting pay expected between $25 and $28 per hour. 401K Plan with Employer Match and Retirement Pension Plan (Defined Benefit, Employer paid pension). Paid leave (PTO) starting at 21 days per year and up to 6 weeks maximum. We also offer 8 paid Holidays plus 2 Floating Holidays and a Birthday Holiday.

This is a full-time position which requires 40 hours of work per week. Benefits for full-time employees include Medical and RX (PPO or HSA plans available), Dental, and Vision - OR - cash in lieu of benefits. Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account.
