Introduction
We are seeking a Product and Engineering Manager to serve as a liaison between our company executive stakeholders and internal teams responsible for implementing our products. This person will be responsible for ensuring the products TCN delivers match the executive vision and market fit. They also help set the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for a product. A good Product & Engineering Manager has their pulse on the people, product, and process of delivering software.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Develops and manages technical roadmaps; assists with contributing to and leading technology strategy
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop project requirements; develops execution strategies based on requirements, roadmap, feedback, and priorities
  • Monitors all development, testing, and deployment activities, code quality, and customer satisfaction; manages metrics to monitor team effectiveness and quality
  • Prepares and submits project status reports; prepares reports outlining team assignments and/or changes, projects status changes, and forecasts project timelines
  • Identifies areas for improvement and implements steps required to make improvements
  • Leads team of Software Engineers; ensuring team members understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Supports individual team members in establishing personal development plans and organizing individual career growth; mentors team members in their own personal development
  • Ensures Software Engineers follow best practices and development standards in their daily work
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels, from end users to executives

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information technology, or related field of study
  • More than twelve (12) years’ experience in progressive roles supporting software engineering, product management, or related environment
  • More than four (4) years’ experience working in a product management capacity in software life cycle development

Skills

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience across broad range of information technology (IT) specialty areas, including but not limited to programming, systems architecture, high performance computing, high performance storage, and network technologies
  • Experience defining systems strategy, including but not limited to designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines
  • Expertise in successful development and delivery of multiple complex software solutions and maintenance projects
  • Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to present views in a clear and concise manner; ability to adapt message/style to fit audience (i.e., ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of management and employees; ability to gain credibility, provide effective customer service, and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Excellent attention to detail; ability to work accurately and to identify, analyze, prevent, and solve problems 
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve performance goals, be adaptable to various competing demands, and meet tight deadlines in a challenging environment 
  • Experience in leading cross functional teams and product/project management in the software/technology industry
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly 
  • Ability to collaborate closely and keep running line of communication with other members of multiple teams
  • High level of proficiency in all Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) 
  • Strong analytic, problem solving, and consultancy skills; ability to think critically and creatively in developing solutions to challenges 
  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics with a confident but well-grounded approach to doing work
