Hours - Monday 10a,-7pm, Tuesday 8am - 5pm, Wednesday 8am - 5pm, Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday -OFF

Medical Assistant – (CMA, RMA, EMT or LPN)

Medical Assistants are key members of the health care delivery team responsible for flow of patients through the clinic. Responsibilities also include obtaining and verifying information from the patients to maximize the provider’s efficiency. The MAs assist providers prepare for patient exams and treatments and provide other support functions as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Completing pre-visit planning based on OMC policy and procedure.
  • Taking and recording patient vital signs in the electronic health record system.
  • Taking notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health record system.
  • Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation.
  • Assisting the clinician with sterile and nonsterile procedures.
  • Continuing outreach to patients with overdue preventative care needs.
  • Assisting with medication prescription process.
  • Placing future orders for lab and imaging.
  • Keeping exam room stocked with adequate medical supplies.
  • Preparing procedure and exam rooms for patient examinations

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or RMA,LPN or EMT, required.
  • CPR certification, required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant, preferred.
  • Prior experience with electronic medical records, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Critical thinking skills (foresight to pre planning of visits).
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records.
  • Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business information.
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards.
