Job Summary
C2 Environmental, Inc. is a small, rapidly growing business located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We focus on environmental planning, permitting and compliance services for a variety of clients including regional utility providers, federal agencies, educational institutions, local governments, and private sector developers within the Mid-Atlantic region. We are well-known for our work in the energy and infrastructure sectors where we provide a suite of services for electric transmission, natural gas, and renewable energy projects as well as coastal and waterfront facilities. C2 Environmental is seeking a qualified individual for the Civil/Environmental Engineer III position

Responsibilities
The Engineer III position is responsible for a variety of project support related tasks. Duties may include leading field teams in support of erosion and sediment control and stormwater management plan design, design of project plans, calculations to support erosion and sediment control and stormwater management design, hydraulic modeling and analysis, plan review, report writing and other office-related functions. The qualified applicant will have advanced knowledge or experience in erosion and sediment control planning, compliance with state erosion and sediment control and stormwater management regulations, proficiency with CADD design for development of project plans, and familiarity with various software platforms for hydraulic analysis and stormwater routing. The position requires coordination with internal teams, project managers, and clients in both written and verbal formats. The position also requires field work and travel (approximately 25%) primarily, but not limited to, Virginia and North Carolina. Some overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences
  • 3-5+ years experience in engineering or environmental consulting desired
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • PE Certification in Virginia and/or North Carolina is strongly desired. Tuition assistance for PE prep courses can be provided.
  • Advanced knowledge in engineering and environmental science consulting practices as they relate to: erosion and sediment control planning, stormwater design, wetland and waters permitting, site plan development, traffic control planning, NPDES permitting and construction compliance
  • Ability to lead field teams and manage and prioritize multiple tasks with limited oversight
  • Virginia DEQ Certified Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Plan Reviewer or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
  • Experience in the preparation of project drawings for linear development or energy sector projects
  • Knowledge and familiarity with utility operations under Annual Standards & Specifications (Virginia)
  • Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permits for authorization from the US Army Corps of Engineers and state environmental agencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional knowledge and familiarity with CADD and ability to train and direct junior staff
  • Ability to work well in diverse groups of people and with minimal direct supervision
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to remote job site locations on a daily basis
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains (position requires field work)
