Primary Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for setting up and operating molding machines as specified by blueprints.
Qualifications:
- Requires Plastic Program certification from EPCC + 3 years’ experience in set up and troubleshooting of injection molding machines or five years demonstrated experience in set up and troubleshooting of injection molding machines.
- Requires the ability to read blueprints and schematics or other specifications.
- Fluent in English to communicate with others, read manuals, procedures, and to write comprehensive reports.
- Hands on or formal training in mechanical/electrical.
- General mechanical and electrical training.
Typical Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
- Selects, positions, and clamps molds in molding press.
- Sets pressure, depth, stroke, speed, and/or other adjustments of machines.
- Inspects completed work using rule, gauges, and templates, micrometer, and a caliper.
- Produces and submits first piece article for quality inspection approval.
- Responsible for the overall quality of molded parts.
- Records and maintains cycle times and charts parameters.
- Requests material from warehouse.
- Assists in assembly, disassembly, and preventive maintenance of molds.
- Mixes material to specification.
- Operates overhead crane.
- Observes guidelines for the safe operation of equipment and machines.
- Performs housekeeping of work area.
- Determines if work processes can be improved.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
This position is considered non-exempt.
