Injection Mold Process Technician

Primary Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for setting up and operating molding machines as specified by blueprints.

Qualifications:

1. Requires Plastic Program certification from EPCC + 3 years’ experience in set up and troubleshooting of injection molding machines or five years demonstrated experience in set up and troubleshooting of injection molding machines.
2. Requires the ability to read blueprints and schematics or other specifications.
3. Fluent in English to communicate with others, read manuals, procedures, and to write comprehensive reports.
4. Hands on or formal training in mechanical/electrical.
5. General mechanical and electrical training.

Typical Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

1. Selects, positions, and clamps molds in molding press.
2. Sets pressure, depth, stroke, speed, and/or other adjustments of machines.
3. Inspects completed work using rule, gauges, and templates, micrometer, and a caliper.
4. Produces and submits first piece article for quality inspection approval.
5. Responsible for the overall quality of molded parts.
6. Records and maintains cycle times and charts parameters.
7. Requests material from warehouse.
8. Assists in assembly, disassembly, and preventive maintenance of molds.
9. Mixes material to specification.
10. Operates overhead crane.
11. Observes guidelines for the safe operation of equipment and machines.
12. Performs housekeeping of work area.
13. Determines if work processes can be improved.
14. Performs any other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

This position is considered non-exempt.
