Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to lead a major capital improvement project at our existing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing vendors, collecting bids, overseeing construction budgets and timelines, and ensuring the successful completion of the project. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a background in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical engineering, and a proven track record of project management in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

Job Duties:
  • Lead all aspects of the capital improvement project, including planning, scheduling, and execution, to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to obtain bids, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Establish project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and proactively identify and address potential delays or obstacles to keep the project on schedule.
  • Apply engineering principles and technical expertise to review design plans, specifications, and engineering drawings, and provide input to optimize project outcomes.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that work meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and cross-functional teams, to provide regular project updates and address any concerns or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and final project closeout documents.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing capital improvement projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
