Job Description

Summary
1) Directly responsible for all facility electrical, process controls and robotic programming.
2) Responsible for increasing maintenance skill level in trouble-shooting electrical and process controls through a defined and detailed training program, which includes the procurement of required support equipment (ie. laptop, programs, correct cabling, etc).
3) Responsible to standardize controls (procure/replace as necessary) for all existing equipment.
4) Involved in all new model launches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provides leadership, discipline, and support to ensure the highest level of Safety, Housekeeping (5S), and professionalism within the Engineering Department.
· Responsible to ensure electrical and/or process equipment meet or exceed budgeted targets for unplanned downtime.
· Assist in trouble-shooting electrical and/or electrical controls problems.
· Assist with developing a critical equipment list (reviewed/updated annually).
· Assist with developing a critical equipment spare parts list (reviewed/updated annually).
· Assist with developing/implementing a critical equipment PM program (reviewed/updated annually).
· Develop PM’s specific to electrical and process related equipment (review/updated annually).
· Assist/Involved in all Predictive Maintenance programs (review/updated annually).
· Involved in all new model launches; plant acceptance process, maintenance training, spare parts, electrical and control updated drawings, and PM’s..
· Assist with developing and implementing a Predictive Maintenance Program for critical electrical equipment.
· Identify cost reduction (ie Energy conservation) opportunities.
· Develop training program for improving electrical process knowledge and trouble-shooting skills for maintenance personnel. (Training program to be conducted either in-house and/or externally and documented). Any testing to follow Union contract agreements.
· Assists in providing and maintaining a safe workplace.
· Involved in all interviewing and testing of department candidates for hire.
· Assist in new hire evaluations.
· Involved in July/December shutdown planning.
· Assist quality department with quality related issues.
· Develop and conduct Conduct Layered Process Audits, per schedule.
· Ensure compliance with all related TS-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures.
· Participate in all plant wide communications.
· Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
· Assist other Autoneum plants, as necessary.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
- Associate’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years related engineering experience is required
- Previous Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with Allen Bradley control equipment.
- Strong electrical/Process controls trouble-shooting skills.
- Experience with Robotics trouble-shooting (Motoman, Fanac, ABB) and Teach Pendant and offline programming.
Language Ability
· Ability to read and interpret technical communications and blueprints
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and other internal customers
Math Ability
- Basic math skills are required, problem solving
Reasoning Ability
· Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions
· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with both abstract
and concrete variables
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office software (inc. Powerpoint, Word, and Excel) and Outlook.
- Mapcon Computerized Maintenance management system software (a plus)
- Auto-Cad (a plus)
- RS Logix PLC Software
