Position: Controls Production Technician

Job Description:

The position is responsible for the assembly, testing and inspecting of controls for aircraft. The role requires efficient, courteous internal customer service and the ability to read, understand and follow engineer drawings. Position works under general direction and supervision of the Controls & Powder Coating Manager. General fabrication and assembly tasks that vary in complexity and variety while using hand tools and light machinery.

Essential duties include:

• Responsible for producing safe, quality product

• Complete Job Orders according to Quality Assurance Manual, Production Specifications and Drawings

• Assist with inventory and data control for the department

• Research and develop new product assembly methods

• Build and test assemblies

• Perform equipment setup, operation, equipment and minor preventative maintenance tasks

• Run tests on all assemblies and equipment to test for safety and productivity

• Identify any problems and find solutions by troubleshooting the issues

• Work as a team to coordinate back orders, scheduling and prep work

• Keep work areas clean, tools and supplies organized

• Inspect for quality in all aspects of different products

• Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements and skills needed for the success at this position:

• Detail-oriented with organizational and time management skills

• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment

• Read, analyze, and interpret written instructions and drawings

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Strong desire to help co-workers

• Team player who is willing to assist other departments during lag times

• Creative capabilities to make suggested improvements and ideas for new tools

• Able to measure and understand using tape measures, calipers and micrometers

Experience and Skills:

• 2-3 years of assembly experience

• Good motor skills and the ability to do fine assembly

• Written and verbal communication skills

• Able to work both in a team setting and individually

• Manage small projects

• A willingness to continuously learn

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time

Perform repetitive motion type tasks regularly

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to lift up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to repetitive motion, bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing and/or pulling.
