Position Overview:
Acara Solutions is seeking an Advanced Cloud DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will collaborate with Software Architects to design cloud applications for optimal scaling, work closely with Project Management and team leadership to drive excellence in solutions, and guide engineering teams in evolving cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and infrastructure engineering.
Key :
- Collaborate with Software Architects to design cloud applications for optimal scaling, incorporating content caching, compute optimizations, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, load balancer setup, and more.
- Work closely with Project Management and team leadership to build and continuously drive excellence in solutions.
- Help guide engineering teams in evolving cloud technologies.
- Support the successful implementation of Application PaaS in the cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more.
- Implement IT security practices, including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, security hardening, and auditing.
- Install Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies such as Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, RHOSP, or VIO.
- Deploy continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef.
- Manage cloud resources in Amazon Web Services or Azure.
- Implement Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShift.
- Utilize cloud automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or Packer.
- Implement open
-source server, messaging, load balancing, and database software (e.g., RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch). - Create pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions from resource creation to service configuration.
- Utilize container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Implement scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX)/Firewalls and adhere to web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and infrastructure engineering.
- Experience with IT security practices and cloud security mechanisms.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies.
- Hands
-on experience with deployment of continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies. - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross
-functional teams. - Ability to guide engineering teams in adopting and evolving cloud technologies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics
- Minimum of 5 years experience with the public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments
- Minimum of 5 years experience in maintaining production
-grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automation
- Master's Degree
