Job Summary and Qualifications

As a CVOR Surgery nurse you must be detail oriented, flexible, able to juggle multiple priorities without missing a beat, adept with technical skills, a team player, and must have excellent communication skills. You must also be able to think critically in a fast-paced, challenging environment. 

About this unit:

  • Team-oriented and fast-paced environment serving a diverse patient population.
  • Supportive nurse leaders, experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinators & exceptional physician support.
  • 10 OR Suites, Level II Trauma Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the general direction of the Director or Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. 
  • Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards. 
  • The Registered Nurse in department 701 Surgery provides care for birth to pediatric, pediatric/child patients between 1 to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.

 What Qualifications You Will Need: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current RN licensure required. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS certification required.
  • Prior experience required in cardiovascular (open-heart) patients.
