Job Description: As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to a quality education tailored to their individual needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address students' unique learning goals and objectives.
  • Differentiating instruction to acmodate diverse learning styles and abilities, including providing modified curriculum materials and instructional strategies.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive classroom environments that promote student success and well-being.
  • Assessing student progress and using data to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
  • Providing direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and independent living skills, as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of student progress and participation in pliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid New Mexico teaching license with Special Education endorsement or eligibility for licensure.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities in educational settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong munication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
