Job Description:

  • Full-time (37.5hours per week)
    • Onsite, Monday-Friday
    • 2024-2025school year
    • Multiple openings
      • K-2 teacher
      • 3-5 teacher
      • 12 students or less with paraprofessional support
  • Renewal opportunities
  • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on students' strengths, challenges, and developmental levels.
  • Design and deliver instructional activities that target academic, communication, social, and life skills development.
  • Use evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions to support students with autism in achieving their educational objectives.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to student support.
    Utilize assistive technology and visual supports to enhance learning experiences and facilitate communication.
  • Implement behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust teaching methods as needed to meet individualized goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher required
  • New York licensure in Special Education
