Job Description
One of our clients is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to provide service in the New London, CT area.
CLIENT HOURS
*Full Schedule M-F daytime hours
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling including safety planning/risk assessment and/or intervention
* Develop treatment plans including client needs, short and long-term goals, action steps and treatment services
* Schedule appointments, administer first-hand observation testing, monitor client progress in guidance with treatment plan objectives
* Refer or enroll clients to related programs or services
* Inform clients of admission procedures, obtain necessary information, establish and monitor case records as well as reports
* Conduct client assessments and evaluations by obtaining collaborative information from outside agencies
* Participate in team meetings, case conferences, training sessions, etc
* Cover administrative duties such as monitoring front desk, client fee system, and loitering in and around facility
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Master's Degree in behavioral health field required
* Experience with substance abuse counseling preferred but NOT required
* Good communication and documentation skills
* Computer literacy
