Minimum 1+ years paraprofessional or special education experience required.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Paraprofessional to join our team near Auburn, Washington. This position will primarily focus on providing support to high school students within the developmental learning center. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with diverse learners, possess excellent munication skills, and have a strong mitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to create and maintain a supportive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies.
  • Help students with academic tasks, including homework, assignments, and projects.
  • Support students in developing social and life skills necessary for success in school and beyond.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree or higher preferred).
  • Experience working with students with special needs, particularly at the high school level.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities, learning disorders, and behavior management techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to municate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
