JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Oncology Manager is a member of the pharmacy leadership team. Plans, organizes, directs and operates the department according to The University of Vermont Medical Center’s goals, policies and practices. Participates in the development and execution of the department strategic and operational plans. Provides leadership and direction for all pharmaceutical care process in the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy. Develops systems of care, solves problems
and facilitates processes required to meet customer need and achieve division objectives within budgetary targets. Additional responsibilities include performance management of assigned staff, quality measurement and process improvement, practice standards within area of responsibility and regulatory compliance.

The position reports to Director, Pharmacy. Reporting to this position are Pharmacist Supervisor and Pharmacists.

EDUCATION:

Entry level Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.  ASHP accredited residency (preferred) or equivalent experience.

Licensed pharmacist in the State of Vermont.

EXPERIENCE:

Five years pharmacist experience in an academic health center environment with demonstrated expertise in drug distribution and control systems.  Previous leadership experience preferred.  Demonstrated ability to coordinate and facilitate work teams to achieve specific results.
