Position Summary:

Looking for a job where you can gain hands-on experience working with kids. Our licensed Before and After Care Program, Community Care Club, is seeking an after school Program Leader. We are looking for enthusiastic adaptable After School Assistants who have a passion for working with school age children (K-8th grade) in an engaging setting. This role is a great opportunity to jumpstart your career! Many of our Child Care Assistants ultimately grow to encourage a high level of program quality during noontime eating and playground activity. In addition, plan and implement fun and engaging projects, clubs, games, sports, and special events with children in their after school day. The Program Leader will be a caring role model who encourages the creativity and growth of our children by establishing positive relationships with all children, families, and staff.


Education/Training/Required Certification:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least 1-year experience working with school-aged children.

OR

  • 12 College Units of Child Development, Education, Recreation, Physical Education, or Human Services preferred.
  • Must pass fingerprint clearance, TB test, pre-employment physical, and provide immunization record of measles and pertussis vaccines.
  • Must complete CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and Pest Management training upon hired.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Required. 

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Supervise children to ensure a safe and harmonious environment during the after school day playtimes. 
  2. Plan, prepare, organize and lead a variety of exciting, enriching, and age appropriate projects based around students’ interests.
  3. Ensure children follow playground safety rules and expectations and apply school site discipline policies.
  4. Help to guide pupils in developing good habits of sportsmanship, respect, inclusion, healthy play, and community.
  5. Implement positive behavior strategies and group management with respect for children and assist students in resolving minor conflicts on the playground.
  6. Report observations and incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) to the Program Director.
  7. Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment.
  8. Inspect the school site and the equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
  9. Interact professionally and appropriately with children, parents, teachers, school staff, community members, and co-workers.
  10. Assist in maintaining student records of attendance, injuries, and behavior logs.
  11. Comply with all Health, Safety, and CA Community Care Licensing guidelines and requirements.
  12. Perform related tasks as required.

Part-Time - 20-25 hours a week for CCC After School Program (2pm-5:00pm: M/T/Th/F) / (12pm-5:00pm: W)

School Year Round Program: August 2023 - June 2024
