Job Description

Waypoint’s Family Preservation and Homeless Youth Programs have come together to create an exciting new role of Therapeutic Youth mentor. This position is part of a new program focusing on preventing unaccompanied homelessness for at-risk youth ages 13-17. If you are bold and courageous; skilled in building safe, trusting relationships with young people; and value youth’s own choice and autonomy you would be a perfect addition to our team.

We are looking for someone who believes that relationships with safe, supportive adults can change the trajectory for youth. Do you want to be that adult and help support, coach, model and train vulnerable youth in age-appropriate behaviors, communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and relationship building? Help guide young people in connecting to community-based resources, support, and prosocial activities with the goal of stabilizing the youth within themselves, their family, and their community.

The Therapeutic Youth Mentor will work alongside the Family Support Worker who will focus on the goals of the young person’s family. Join a mission and team where people matter, where you can truly make a difference.
