Job Description
Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness (WPHW) is growing, and we are excited to be adding new people to our team! If you value inclusivity, balance, and cultural centeredness and have a true passion for serving others, you may be a great fit for our team! WPHW is a non-profit organization that serves four federally recognized tribes located in five communities: the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Aroostook Band of Mi'kmaq, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point, and the Penobscot Nation. Wabanaki traditions, language, and culture guide our approach and describe the ways we live in harmony with each other and the land we collectively share. Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the state of Maine.
Position Summary:
The Healing Lodge Licensed Clinical Social Worker works directly with the residents of the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization program at the Center for Wabanaki Healing and Recovery, as well as clients living in our recovery residences. This position is a critical part of the Healing Lodge team providing culturally based substance use treatment services to indigenous people. They collaborate closely with the clinical supervisor to implement treatment plans and counseling in both individual and group settings. The Healing Lodge utilizes both evidence-based and Indigenous-based treatment modalities. We meet people where they are and lead alongside our participants in their healing journey in a way that is aligned with cultural values rather than driven by reimbursements. Although this is a full-time position, we are willing to consider the option of hiring two part-time LCSW's to fill the role.

- May provide these services through the Healing Lodge in Millinocket.
