Position Summary:

Work on production line to inspect and package product

Essential Job Functions:

• Machine paced packing with extensive arm and hand movement (taking product off conveyor belt and place in shipping containers).
• Visually examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that quality control standards are met.
• Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them in specified areas.
• Prepare or assemble containers / boxes for packing.
• Move completed packages / boxes onto conveyor belt for processing.
• Perform general housekeeping and organization of the work area, which includes hands-on cleaning to support safety regulations.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor / Plant Manager.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands

• Stand at a production line 67-100% of day Push / Pull / Lift up to 12 lbs. 34-66% of the time, and 11-20 lbs. 34-66% of the time.
• Handle small items 67-100% of the time.
• Twist / turn / bend / squat / reach outward 34-66% of the time.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
• Good visual skills are necessary as this employee must be able to visually inspect items for damage.
• Hearing is essential for safety around machinery.

Position Qualification Requirements

Education / Training:

• GED or High School Diploma preferred, but not required.

Experience:

• Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Must be able to understand English.
• Must be able follow directives from the Mix, Line Leader, and supervisor.
• Must be able to pass the post offer physical and drug test.
• Ability to follow instructions and company safety rules.
• Must possess good organizational skills.
• Must have good manual dexterity skills.

Machines, Tools, Equipment & Work Aids (note: this list may not be all inclusive)

• Works with carton machinery, conveyor belts, wrapping equipment, case sealers, and general packaging equipment.

Work Environment:

• This position is in a manufacturing environment using chemicals. The environment can be dusty.
• Personal protection equipment consists of safety glasses in certain areas and optional dust mask respirator, gloves, and / or hearing protection.
