Overview:

Brown Industrial Construction is a heavy civil construction company specializing in Clearing & Grubbing, Excavation & Embankment, Sub-Surface Drainage, Material Placement, Soil Stabilization, Concreted Paving and Deep Foundations. We are seeking an experienced full-time Pile Driving Supervisor to lead heavy civil construction project activities with an emphasis on bridges in Louisiana.


Job Description:

Brown Industrial Construction is seeking a Pile Driving Supervisor that can function at a high level while completing a various number of tasks. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of experience of pile driving
  • 3+ years of supervising pile driving crews of multiple sizes
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing future jobs to identify construction needs
  • Ability to identify crane needed for the project.
  • Ability to identifying the the and size of piling needed.
  • Ability to identifying the necessary rigging for the project.


Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience as a pile driver.
  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience supervising pile driving crews.
  • Experience with planning and job set up for pile driving jobs.
  • Experience with rigging heavy loads using slings, cable chokers, spreader bars, and multi-part load blocks.

General Responsibilities:
  • Attention and Commitment to Safety
  • Communicate Effectively with Crew and Construction Manager
  • Plan, direct and supervise workers engaged in heavy highway or civil construction. Activities include planning, organizing, directing and controlling methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, work schedule and reviewing documentations
  • Promote and enforce craft and subcontractor’s compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented
  • Mentor and coach foremen as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements
  • Conduct and/or direct project safety meetings
  • Supervise foremen assigned to area of responsibility and provide liaison between field engineering, estimating, and crafts to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors
  • Ensures that workers are supplied with tools, materials and equipment for completion of project
  • Resolve construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required
  • Maintain liaison with other departments (i. e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule
  • Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties
  • Support published corporate policies
  • Perform additional assignments per management s direction

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
