Position Objective: Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Activities in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations to assure that an ongoing program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each individual.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Mission Vision, Values

  1. To support the philosophy through the agency’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
  2. Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations.
  3. To conduct oneself in a manner that reflects the highest standards of professional courtesy and ethical practices to people served, staff, guardians, families, and all outside contacts.
  1. Conduct staff meetings on a consistent basis to review program operations, disseminate appropriate information and coordinate service delivery.
  1. Coordinate and monitor functions of each area of facilities to ensure an efficient operation of the facility.
  2. Coordinate, schedule and participate in Host Home vacations, Power Team activities, fund raising and other events that are included in the Community Options program.
  3. Provide OJT and CBTA training for DSPs.
  4. Provide on-going support and supervision to staff and DSPs through monthly meetings, mentoring, and continuing education.
  5. As mandated reporter, ensure allegations of abuse and neglect are reported as required.
  6. Submit recommendations regarding the development and/or revision of Agency policies, procedures and strategic goals pertinent to Host Home services.
  7. Submit reports and statistical information in accordance with specified time frames as requested.
  8. Interact with Community Options, Host Home providers, EP!C staff, Host Home Individuals, family members, other professionals, and other relevant individuals in a professional manner.
  9. Ensure that home environments operate within established standards including health and safety guidelines, protection of individuals' rights, adherence to staffing patterns, and fiscal parameters.
  10. Assure compliance with all agency policies, licensing, accrediting, certifying, approving, and reviewing bodies affecting program operations.
  11. Participate in 24/7 on-call system
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Assistance

  1. Provide back up to Community Options Manger and Area Director in their absence.
  1. Participate in agency-wide functions to support entire organization, including intra-agency and interagency committees and development of policies and procedures.

Staff Supervision

  1. In conjunction with the HR department, interview, hire, supervise, assign, evaluate the performance of, and when necessary, discharge assigned personnel directly and in cooperation with appropriate department heads.
  1. Authorize and plan personnel requests for vacation time, leaves of absence, travel authorizations, change in position and in-service training directly and in cooperation with appropriate department heads.
  2. Assure all supervisory staff receive orientation, in-service and continuing education to increase the level of performance and maintain optimum standards of performance within the department.
  3. Monitor all department staff to meet performance expectations and address concerns in a timely manner to assure peak performance for individuals served and other co-workers. Hold staff accountable for assigned responsibilities and meet monthly with each staff to review performance and develop a plan of correction as necessary.
  4. Monitor staff to assure host home providers meet all expectations of the contract.
  5. Assure that all personnel are currently registered, licensed, and certified.

Program/Department Development, and Coordination

  1. Inspect activities functions periodically to assure that quality control measures are maintained.
  2. Provide assistance with activities.
  3. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs.
  4. Maintain files and data entry according to the standards set by the agency.
  5. Review all documentation for accuracy.
  6. Understand rules governing program/licensure for CILA.
  7. Supports database management systems.
  8. Monitor changes in current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards, and recommend changes in policies and procedures.
  9. Perform administrative functions such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc.
  1. Provide written and/or oral reports of the programs and activities as required, or as directed.
  1. Meet with activity staff on a regular basis to develop, conduct, and evaluate activities.
  2. Promote community participation for individuals.
  3. Review all medical and other incident reports for the person.
  1. Participate in continuing educational opportunities for personal growth and development.
  1. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  1. Contribute to and maintain a healthy and productive work environment.

Fiscal Management

  1. Oversee project assignments to ensure projects are within budget, with quality, and on schedule.

Marginal Responsibilities

  1. Perform other duties as assigned.
  2. As a mandated reporter ensures all allegations, abuse, and neglect are reported as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
  3. Minimum of one-year supervisory experience
  1. One year experience with persons with developmental disabilities.

  4. Operates general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer.
  5. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  1. Work may occur in the following settings: Home, Office, Classroom, Site, or Community.
  1. Be a team player with a positive attitude towards the people EP!C supports, peers, EP!C staff and outside contacts.
