CHB Support Team
COA Site: Camp Helen Brachman, 9341 Asbury Drive, Almond, WI 54909
Dates: June 1 – August 17
Pay: Based on experience and training. $350-$380 per week if living at camp (includes room and board). $14-$18 per hour if not living at camp.
Open Positions: Cooks – 4. Kitchen Assistants – 4. Housekeeping – 2. Maintenance Assistant – 2.

We seek adults who are passionate about working with youth and want to make a positive difference in each camper’s life. Our camp programs provide opportunities for underserved youth to enjoy a rural habitat, enjoy and learn about nature, try new adventures, and learn new skills. Camp Helen Brachman is a piece of the good.
The work environment is an outdoor camp environment. The person may also spend time out-of-doors which can mean exposure to hot, cold, rainy weather. It also involves various activities with youth requiring the ability to respond quickly to changing situations and emergencies.
General Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 18 by June 1, 2024
- CPR / First Aid certification (or willing to get at camp)
- Experience or desire to interact with youth from underserved areas
- Embody COA Values with a passion for serving others
- Philosophical compatibility with COA mission and youth development methods
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships. Cultural competency. Respect for diversity of all types.
- Flexibility to work in different areas. Is a team player.
- Works well independently and under pressure
- Love of outdoors and being active
The physical requirements are the ability to:
- Sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and walk for long periods of time
- Lift and carry at least 25 pounds
- Handle exposure to heat and chemicals.
Job Specific Requirements:
Cooks: Experience in large-scale food preparation and cooking as well as in safely handling industrial kitchen equipment
Kitchen Assistant: Preferred: Experience in cooking
Housekeeping: Preferred: Experience in housekeeping. Lift and carry at least 50 pounds
Maintenance Assistant: Preferred: maintenance or property experience. Lift and carry at least 80 pounds
