Here are some negative things that you will need to know before you apply (See, I told you we are transparent.)

  • This is a sales job; therefore, you are expected to make outbound calls and send emails and texts all day. Our prospects are reached via the phone, sure there are some emails, but the phone is where the money is made. So if you are unwilling to make the calls, we are not your place.
  • You are hunting for new business, which means that you are working new accounts all day long, yes it is a grind, so you gotta love the hunt, make it fun and work your plan daily,
  • The work starts and stops with you. We have created a culture where every employee is set up to win, but you must have initiative, drive, desire, and grit to perform. We create the culture, but every employee is expected to do their job, and yours is to bring in sales.

Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Sales Representative is to grow AM Transport’s business through outbound calls, emails, and texts, but mostly calls to contact and cultivating and maintaining relationships with qualified shippers in the Midwest.

You’ll be required and responsible for daily identifying, researching, and contacting qualified leads. You’ll engage in conversations with various positions within your target customer's business and connect and converse with them about their logistics needs and the benefits of working with AM Transport Services. We help move goods of all types from one location to their required destinations (mostly in the Midwest) to help feed others and help businesses and consumers get their supplies and goods. In short, we make the economy move, and you will be part of that. The food your family had last night, we probably helped deliver that. The clothes you buy, we probably helped deliver that. In short, we believe you are working in one of the most important industries in the US.

In short, you're in the change management business, so that means being able to connect with the right prospects and tell our story to them, so they use us. You must be ok with ethical persuasion and have a passion to help others change to a better alternative. We know we are the best at what we do, and we need you to help tell others.

Here are some skills you will need to do the job

  • You must be curious and able to ask questions and truly listen to the answers.
  • You must care about others.
  • You must have exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence.
  • You must be extremely self-motivated with a diligent work ethic
  • You must hold a high level of integrity and a solid commitment to building your customer base and successfully helping the company grow
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Adept computer skills, including proficiency with cloud software
  • Experience with CRM applications preferred
