PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES ONSITE AVAILABILITY ONE WEEK BEFORE OPENING (MEMORIAL DAY OPENINGS) THROUGH START OF SCHOOL SEASON AND POSSIBLE WEEKENDS THROUGH LABOR DAY. NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAY AVAILABILITY ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Off Site Pool Manager works to ensure guests experience a safe & fun pool environment that helps them reach their goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Directs and supervises the pool activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.

2. Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations, resolving issues immediately.

3. Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools. Secures and schedules pool facilities.

4. Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance, notifying the Aquatics Director of any chemical irregularities.

5. Ability to work independently with attention to detail required.

6. Attends/facilitates all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.

7. Responds quickly, efficiently, and professionally to any emergency situation; completes necessary paperwork and notifies the appropriate professional staff member.

8. Enforces all pool rules and regulations promptly and professionally.

9. Complies with all items contained in the YMCA of Greater Omaha Aquatic Standards.

10.On-site attendance is required of this position.

11.Actively participate in department and branch meetings and/or trainings.

12.All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be least 21 years of age

2. At least 1 year supervisory experience in customer service and/or instruction

3. Demonstrated success leading aquatic-focused or equivalent team

4. Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours

5. Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause & culture training; Aquatics-specific training including Lifeguard certification, if needed; Child Abuse Prevention Training; CPR; First Aid; Emergency Oxygen Administration (provided by YMCA)

6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Recreational environment; aquatics facility. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers.

• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or move a maximum of 25 lbs.

• Intermittent use of pool to instruct participants.

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
