Safety Lead

Summary:

The Site Safety Lead is responsible for leading, motivating and fostering a safety-conscious culture to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident free work environment. The Safety Lead demonstrates a commitment to driving the Company’s safety culture program by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor to ensure company policies, regulatory requirements and safe work practices are being followed consistently.

Primary Duties:

• Function as the Site Safety Leader on designated shift, reporting safety data to Safety Supervisor
• Function as a permanent member of the Site Safety Committee
• Assist in the waste management activities / practices at the site
• Inspect waste containers as required to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations
• Perform waste management procedures as necessary
• Report waste recycling/disposal activities to Safety Supervisor
• Maintain personal training in Safety and Environmental activities.
• Drive and maintain continuous improvement in safety and waste disposal processes.
• Look for ways to implement and improve safety initiatives in cooperation with site managers and supervisors
• Interface with Production, Shipping, Inventory and Maintenance teams on matters involving safety

Non-Essential Duties:

• Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor
• Participate in safety meetings
• Instruct staff in proper safety procedures in a respectful and productive manner

Experience:

• Associates Degree (AA) preferred.
• Minimum of three years of applicable experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
