Position Title: School JanitorJob Summary:The school janitor plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the educational facility. This position involves various custodial duties aimed at supporting the overall functioning of the school and ensuring a positive learning environment for students and staff.Responsibilities:Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting all areas of the school premises, including classrooms, corridors, offices, restrooms, and common areas. Ensure proper sanitization protocols are followed, especially in high-touch surfaces and sensitive areas.Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in designated containers, adhering to waste management guidelines and environmental regulations. Monitor waste levels and coordinate with appropriate personnel for disposal as needed.Maintenance and Repair: Identify maintenance and repair needs within the school facility, including broken fixtures, plumbing issues, and malfunctioning equipment. Report maintenance concerns to the appropriate authorities and assist in minor repairs or adjustments as directed.Safety and Security: Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors by promptly addressing safety hazards, slippery surfaces, and obstructions. Follow established safety procedures and protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.Restocking Supplies: Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other essential items. Restock supplies as needed to ensure sufficient availability for daily operations.Special Events Support: Collaborate with school administration and event organizers to support special events, meetings, and activities held within the school premises. Set up and arrange furniture, equipment, and decorations as requested.Outdoor Maintenance: Assist in outdoor maintenance tasks such as snow removal, sidewalk clearing, and grounds keeping activities to ensure safe access to the school facility during inclement weather conditions.Compliance and Regulations: Adhere to established school policies, procedures, and regulations governing custodial services, workplace safety, and hygiene standards.
