Under general supervision, the Environmental Specialist will assist in the performance, collection, and analysis of diverse types of emissions from various facilities while maintaining the highest of safety, environmental, and ethical standards. The position will involve preparation of detailed written field reports and documentation associated with asbestos, lead, industrial hygiene, and microbial projects. Environmental Specialist will assist in the hazardous waste programs & projects, utilizing state & federal regulations.Salary: The expected pay rate is $85,000 per year. The actual pay rate offered may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to experience, knowledge, skills, and/or location.

Essential Duties:
  • Assist in conducting on-site testing of materials, processes, and various pollution sources.
  • Prepare, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment and all supplies needed for accurate and timely testing.
  • Oversee consultants and contractors to ensure appropriate testing procedures and methods are followed.
  • Provide accurate and complete field and/or lab data to develop test reports and conclusions, including all quality control/quality assurance, for submission to applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environment, equipment, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and readily available records and data for inspections and audits.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Science, or Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Safety Specialist or Environmental Specialist related role or equivalent experience preferred.

Other Functions:

  • Assist the company to ensure that the organization complies with all current safety regulations.
  • Help in the evaluation of the organization's procedures, facilities, and equipment to identify potential unsafe conditions that need improvement.
