WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Production Lead will assist the supervisor in trouble shooting, making minor adjustment, and reporting problems with plant equipment to achieve maximum levels of quality and production while minimizing downtime. Training “on-the-job” and working environment are fast paced. This vital position also works closely with operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff.

  • Alert maintenance staff and manager/plant operator of all breakdowns and give updates of equipment status
  • Assist supervisors with auditing PM’s and assuring that they are being completed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for managing and optimizing productivity on the production floor alongside or in the absence of a supervisor
  • Work with supervisors to coordinate break rotations for production employees and break out operators when needed
  • Assist supervisors with collection of charts & logs for production lines
  • Make adjustments as needed to plant equipment to optimize quality and production
  • Train new employees on how to work safely on or near equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe plant
  • Inspect work and work area, perform clean-up using proper tools and machinery as needed
  • Responsible for notifying supervisor of any objects found or any pest being sighted
  • Be aware of all sanitation guidelines and assist in enforcing them
  • Perform other duties as assigned


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely
  • Six months to one year experience in a production facility
  • Valid California Driver License and clean driving record

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Punctual, excellent attendance record, and cooperate with others
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills
  • Apply common sense, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in production maintenance (Production worker) or equivalent combination of education/related experience and/or training
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Forklift Certified

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 - 55 lbs.
  • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving machinery, and outside weather conditions
  • Ability to work in cold environments (40 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Must be able to work in freezer and cold, wet and/or humid conditions
