Ammonia Refrigeration Service Technician

EVAPCO’s Greenup, IL manufacturing plant, and its Evapcold packaged refrigeration business, is searching for the ideal candidate to fill the position of Ammonia Refrigeration Service Technician.

Job Summary:

• Perform refrigeration service and repair activities on Evapcold low charge ammonia packages installed in the field at food and beverage, cold storage, pharmaceutical and related facilities.
• Provide service support to Evapco’s industrial refrigeration customers installing and maintaining the Evapcold systems, as well as technical support to the Evapcold production and assembly line in Greenup.
• This includes a working knowledge of screw compressors, refrigeration system components, electrical troubleshooting common types of ammonia systems & control/alarm systems.
• Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements.
• Ability to work unsupervised or with limited instruction.
• Position will be based out of Evapco’s Greenup, IL manufacturing plant but requires regular travel to Evapcold project installations in the US and Canada.
• RETA operator or technician certifications a plus.

Qualification Skills we are looking for:

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive work experience in ammonia refrigeration service.
• Valid Driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift objects up to fifty pounds.
• Must be able to pass physical examination and possible Respirator Fit Testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
• Availability to be on call nights and/or weekends as required.
• Basic computer skills (electronic documentation).
